It will be of particular interest to occupational safety and health practitioners and members of the legal profession who wish to have a detailed analysis of the general principles and the detailed rules in this increasingly complex area of law. An updated supplement from Raymond Byrne will also be sent out detailing new developements in health and safety since the book was published in 2008.

Raymond Byrne is the Director of Research at the Law Reform Commission. At Dublin City University, he has been involved in its masters programme in safety and health at work since its inception. He has also lectured widely to both the public sector and private sector audiences on the legal aspects of occupational safety and health. He is also co-author of The Irish Legal System and of the Annual Review of Irish Law.
