What Time does training begin?
For most courses the start time is 09.30am sharp (excluding First Aid and Fork Lift where the start time is 09.00am sharp whilst Safe Pass courses will commence at 08.15am sharp). Please contact Nifast and ask for the start time of your particular course.

What happens if I am late for a course?
Participants must arrive in the training centre at least 15 minutes before the start of each course. Participants should ensure they have adequate time to get to the training centre as the onus is on the participant to arrive on time. For certification purposes participants will not be accepted on any course later than 15 minutes after the course start time. However late arrivals cannot be accepted on any Safe Pass course.

Are there booking conditions I need to be aware of?
Yes. Please observe the following arrangements regarding cancellations and transfers. Places cancelled less than two weeks before a course must be paid for in full. Transfers made within 14 working days before a course are subject to a 25% admin fee. Names can be substituted any time at no extra cost.

How do I know my booking is ok?
When Nifast receives a payment and a booking by fax, post, e-mail or through our web site, the booking is registered immediately. If the course is booked out or has been re-scheduled, you will be notified within 24 hours of receipt of your booking. Assuming there is a place available for you on the course, you will receive a Training Course Acknowledgement and Direction Map to your training centre prior to course commencement.

Is lunch provided?
Yes, full lunch is provided at a local restaurant as well as refreshments on arrival and throughout the day to ensure each participant's stay is as comfortable as possible. Any special dietary requirements can be catered for but Nifast must be notified in advance of the participant's attendance.

Is parking available?
Yes there is ample car park and on-road parking at our training centres in Dublin and Cork.

Is there a local Accommodation listing available?
Yes there is, it is available on www.nifast.ie and will be mailed to you with your Training Course Acknowledgment.

Is there public transport to the training centres?
Yes. Participants who need to get to the Dublin training centre should take the number 41 bus from Eden Quay or the number 16A bus from O'Connell Street. Those getting to the Cork training centre should take the numbers 7 or 6 bus from the South Mall.

What is the dress code?
Casual and comfortable clothing is welcomed. For First Aid, Manual Handling and Manual Handling Instructors and Assessors training, comfortable clothing is required – for practical reasons trousers are recommended.

Can Nifast cope with participants who have literacy difficulties?
Each case must be assessed individually. Every opportunity will be given to participants who have literacy difficulties and where possible special arrangements will be made to help compensate these participants. It may be possible for the participants to be allowed extra time for the examination or to arrange with the course tutor to transcribe verbal answers onto paper. Such requests must be made before the commencement of the course in order to provide the course tutor with advanced notice of any likely problems. All problems will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.

Can students with English language difficulties be accommodated?
English is the language in which training is delivered. If participants wish to bring an Interpreter who does not interrupt the class, they may do so at no additional charge. Regarding Safe Pass however, it is essential that all participants have at least a basic understanding of English. Non-English speaking groups cannot be catered for unless there is a meeting on a date prior to the course between the tutor and any proposed interpreter.

Are there any pre-course requirements?
For most courses there are not, but for some such as instructor and refresher courses certificates are requested before the participant commences the course but these requirements are clearly stated in the course documentation. It is best to check with a Nifast representative before booking.

Are there any pre-course specifications for clients?
In the case of in-company courses the onus is on the client to provide a suitable venue for training. For most courses a suitable training room/boardroom will suffice. However for some courses such as Fork Lift, First Aid and Manual Handling a suitable area for practical demonstration will be required as well as an additional room for theory and examination. We also request where possible that a TV/Video, LCD Projector and Screen are provided.

Are there guidelines on picking suitable participants?
For some courses yes, please ask when booking your course.

What happens if someone fails? Can the participant repeat?
Nifast applies detailed and thorough procedures to moderate and check examination results before they are issued. This includes a particular review of borderline results to ensure that the declared results are fair and a reflection of the participants work. However each case is dealt with on it's own merit.  Generally the Instructor will speak to the person who has booked the participant on the course and explain where the problem is. Nifast also has an appeals policy whereby participants can enquire about their examination results that do not meet their expectations. Any enquiry must be made in writing within one months of the date of issue of the result to which it relates. Sometimes it is simply a matter of re-sitting the exam due to nerves and this can be accommodated for. Other circumstances require additional training or remedial training, which again if possible, will be catered for. In some instances there are additional charges for these services.

Are certificates given to participants or sent to the company?
For some courses certificates are handed out to the course participants at the end of the training, for others that require exams to be assessed, certificates are sent to the company after the course.

Do Nifast issue replacement certificates?
Yes they do. If it has been difficult to read a name and there is an error on a Certificate, Nifast will re-issue a correct one free of charge.  If after the course, a certificate is lost or stolen, Nifast can re-issue a certificate at a charge of €40 search and replacement fee.

Are any of your courses accredited by external bodies?
Yes, Nifast continues to achieve the highest standards possible in training. For example all of our Forklift courses are RTITB accredited. Nifast also deliver the IOSH accredited Managing Safely, Supervising Safely and Directing Safely training programmes as well as the IITD Trainer Skills Certificate.

Nifast's Trainers are FÀS approved and have been placed on the FAS/EI National Register of Trainers.  Nifast's FÀS Registration number is 900098. Nifast is also a FETAC approved training supplier.

CPD points may also be available from IOSH. Further details on membership of IOSH, and CPD points are available by contacting the IOSH Ireland Branch at iosh@iol.ie.
