This half-day programme is designed to train participants how to handle chemicals safely.

Objectives
On completion of this course participants will be able to:

• List routes of entry of chemicals into the body
• Identify health effects of chemicals
• Identify warning symbols and read relevant product warning labels
• Use an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)
• Identify and use different types of available PPE

English is the language in which training is delivered and participants must have a good command of the English language. If participants wish to bring an interpreter they may do so but prior notice must be given to nifast.

Who should attend?
Non-specialist staff who need to recognise, assess and protect themselves from chemical hazards in the workplace.
